Burn Tips
Soy Candle Burn Tips & Care
Caring for your NEIA Moon candle will make it last longer and burn better. Follow the tips below to ensure an even, safe, and enjoyable burn.
Soy Candle Burn Tips
- Trim the wick to 1/4" before burning the first time.
- A wick trimmer is ideal, but scissors can also work. After your first burn, remove excess carbon buildup from the wick before use.
- Burn for 2-4 hours at a time, especially the first burn.
- You want to ensure that the wax melts to the edge of the vessel on each burn (or very close), otherwise, you may end up with tunneling, making the candle harder to light or keep lit on future burns.
Soy Candle Care & Safety
- Place the candle on a level, heat resistant surface, away from wind and flammable objects.
- Do not leave burning candles unattended.
- Keep burning candles out of reach of children and pets.
- The sides of the tins may be hot after burning for an extended period. Use caution when handling.
- Stop burning once wax falls below 1/2 inch remaining.
Care for Soy Wax Melts:
- Use wax melts only in tea-light warmers or other warmers approved for wax melts.
- Do not leave melter unattended while in use.
- Keep out of reach of flammable objects, children, and pets while in use.
- Do not add water or burn on stovetop.
- Discontinue once wax falls below 1/2 inch remaining.
Additional Information
- A rough, pitted top is normal for soy wax candles after burning and cooling. It will level back out on your next burn!
- Some light candle sweating is also normal for pure soy wax candles while burning.
